Collection contains record of property sold by Charles H. Sibley, sheriff of Richmond County, Georgia. The same book (pp. 5 - 167) was used by his wife, Emeline Wheeler Sibley, as a recipe book for foods, medicines, and cleaning preparations.

The collection is composed of a mixture of papers that are connected through their relationship to the donor. It contains about 20 letters written in 1890 by Emma Longstreet (Mrs. Josiah) Sibley to her daughter, Mary Sibley (Mrs. Albert S. J.) Gardner, while Emma was touring Europe with her daughter, the artist, E. Josephine Sibley. Typescripts of these letters are included. There are also five items relating to James W.
